At around mid-day on Friday, my old flat had a new owner. After a lot of help from Alex, Andrew and Anton (yes, we know people whose names begin with letters other than A as well!) we finally managed to shift everything into a small 80 sq ft metal box on an industrial estate for storage…
Getting ready to do it all again in 7 or so weeks :/
The place looks so empty
West end drivers

Yes, we were using alex as a human traffic cone… And this typical arrogant west end driver nearly reversed into him stopping the van getting in… Later we had space to move the van. Get out of that
… She spent ages parking that far out in the first place… So not only is she an arrogant idiot. She can’t drive either ! - end of rant

4 Days to Go

Getting closer by the moment and two important things are finally sorted out … we have a van, and a storage unit…
The bathroom has one personal item in it… a toothbrush… making it the first fully-boxed room - yay
Of course this means that the kitchen and bedroom still aren’t anywhere near it ![]()

This was always my favourite room, and until we came to sell was the only one that was “finished” … The fireplace especially will really be missed!!
I almost forgot what this room looked like when I first moved in… Can’t imagine it would have recieved the same number of pleasantly surprised “wow”s from our viewers if I’d left it that way
Now, it’s our box store ![]()
Last Weekend

This is the last weekend I’ll be spending at Number 18. The last time I’ll arrive home at 2am on Saturday morning having returned from Matt’s, just 5 minutes away. The last weekend in which I’ll have local friends.
It’s somewhat strange thinking about leaving here after 3 years… it’s been my home for quite some time now and it’s remained constant through a lot of changes in my life. After 130 years it’s not quite the grand building that it once was, but it’s my home.
I guess 100 years from now, this building will probably still be standing long after my next home (and whatever lies after that) has been demolished and something new put in it’s place. There’s something nice about listed buildings, knowing they will outlive us…
Looking around the flat looks exactly as it has every day lately… the geckos are sitting on the desk unaware of the impending move, there’s washing drying in the bedroom… all my furniture is still in it’s place and there’s dishes in the cupboards… there’s a lot to be done this week.
All going well, the new place is sorted… but I can’t move in until August ![]()
