Well it’d appear that Andrew’s flat is for sale as well… Great… now I’m competing for viewers and offers with someone I know
At least he’s got a schedule… I’m still waiting for mine to be made up … threw my own together the day I had my first viewers.
On the up-side it is going quite well … had a lot of viewers but sadly, so far, no large amount of cash from any of them…
I live in hope
To quote the ineffable Victor Meldrew; “I Don’t Belieeeve It!”
As you all know I have a vauge background in Health & Safety in an Entertainment Venue (indeed all of my venues have passed inspection first time - without bribary
) so whilst I can understand their concerns - this one is nonsensical!
I read today that London County Hall have prohibited FOAM RED NOSES being worn by audience members, and performers, at the Red Nose Day special of Fame Academy;
“We are filming in a Grade II listed building and anything that is a potential fire risk or can cause damage when dropped is not allowed. We are working with essential equipment only.”
I LIVE in a Grade II listed building, so I respect that they dont want it burnt down… however, the noses are made from a fire-retardant soft foam… so they shouldn’t catch fire and they certainly shouldn’t pose any physical risk during an evacuation etc…
They claim
It is true red noses are not allowed - but neither are newspapers, bottles, bags and all manner of other items.
Ok, newspapers are defnitely flammable - fair enough. Bottles made of glass present a danger, yes. If they’ve banned plastic water bottles then I can see there being issues there too … seem to remember us being told we had to let them be brought in a couple of times, and yes that was in a listed building too. “Bags and all manner of other items” I imagine they’re still permitting mobile phones, keys etc…
I’d love to see the risk assessment that came up with this one! (Hey if I get bored I may even request a copy of it from Endemol and see what I get!)
