Well this year I was in Edinburgh for Hallowe’en (with a remarkable number of people from Heriot-Watt that I only met AFTER I stopped being a student there… typical, oh and most of the ‘family’).. There’s loads of photos of course, pay special attention to Ben… He’s the girl in green

Walking through Tesco today (7th October) what should greet us but rather large banners worth the words “Merry Christmas” about 2 foot high… It’s OCTOBER, That’s OCTOBER, not even late october or possibly even mid-November, but October 7th, no less than 78 days (yes that’s two and a half months!) before Christmas… and about 77 days before I start Christmas shopping….

Just what you expect to find in a book sale at Winchester Cathedral, “A Matter of Life and Sex”… how, erm, appropriate?

There was also a large variety of really old books (i.e. 1800s….) which were rather impressive from a purely technical point of view… only I could look at an old book like that and imagine the printing process…. ah well.
